Back To The Basics: What Is Heartburn
It is called heartburn in English, heartburn has nothing to do with the heart. Still, it can be accompanied by heart attack-like symptoms. Heartburn is the term used to describe the reaction that occurs when the muscles at the bottom of the oesophagus, which usually contract once they have let food into the stomach, are weakened. If the muscles are not strong enough, acid can escape from the stomach into the oesophagus and flow back down the throat and mouth.
This causes the uncomfortable feeling known as heartburn, which can be treated in a number of ways. If youre not used to it, or if you feel like your symptoms just dont seem to be getting better, things can get more worrisome.

How To Get Rid Of Heartburn An Instant Home Remedy
I was up Googling how to get rid of heartburn in the middle of the night a few years ago and came across this. If you find yourself in the exact same position this holiday season this is the instant cure I found.
Ive had gut issues for as long as I can remember. I dont think I stress about stuff or get tense, but my stomach thinks otherwise. My stomach thinks I stress out A LOT and it, being the extremely thoughtful organ that it is, gets angry for me. Angry like a nest of wasps made out of acid. So my stomach takes care of all the stress and anxiety I feel, without having to bother my pretty little head about it.
Ill believe in my mind that Im moving along fine in life not being bothered by a thing when my stomach will start to tighten up. Then Ill feel a bit bloaty maybe. Then Ill notice my stomach is tightening, hard as a rock and ballooning to approximately the same size as a Water Buffalo. You know how when a country thinks conditions are unsafe and its under attack, itll go into lockdown? My gut goes into lockdown. Like North Korea.
I used to think I had some type of rare and special disease but as it turns out .. I have gas. Gas in itself isnt all that bad. Especially if you make your living by belching the alphabet . Its when you cant get the hell rid of the gas. When it just builds up and builds up inside your tiny little locked down stomach.
And then I burp and everything is fine with the world.

- Create a heartburn-friendly diet by keeping a food diary to record which foods are safer for you and which are more likely to trigger heartburn. You may be able to enjoy some foods occasionally or in smaller amounts, while you will find others need to be avoided most of the time.

For approximately 30 to 50% of women, antacids will do the trick.
Antacids that are made up of aluminum, calcium, or magnesium hydroxides are considered safe during pregnancy.
However, high doses of antacids, and those that contain magnesium trisilicates and bicarbonate have been associated with certain risks, so its important to speak with your provider before you take an antacid.

According to a January 2018 study in the journal Pediatrics, pregnant women who used PPIs and H2RAs were 45 percent more likely to have children with asthma than women who didnt use these medicines.
Aloe Vera Syrup Products
Aloe vera juice has been used in traditional medicine to heal irritation of the esophagus. It is unwise to use unprocessed aloe vera sap as it contains laxative compounds, but some products are formulated for internal use. AloeCure contains organic aloe juice and is marketed as an all-natural remedy for digestive disorders, including heartburn. Some trials, including a 2015 study, have found aloe vera syrup to be effective for heartburn symptoms. Note that consuming aloe can lower your blood sugar levels. What Are The Best Sleeping Positions For Heartburn
Sleeping on your left side may reduce your heartburn symptoms because it relieves the pressure on your stomach and allows for food to move to the lower part of the stomach. Conversely, some research suggests that lying on your right side aggravates heartburn and GERD .
Sleeping with the head of your bed elevated is another good way for people with heartburn to slip into a restful slumber. Heartburn is a result of the stomach contents coming back up into the esophagus, so utilizing gravity by elevating the head and upper body helps keep your stomach contents where they should be. You can purchase wedge pillows that keep you propped up all night, thus reducing heartburn.
Additionally, you can opt to raise the top two posts of your bed frame to elevate your upper body when you sleep. Bed raisers are available online and come in different heights to fit your preference. Just make sure that if your bed frame does not have a sturdy footboard, you secure your mattress to prevent it from slipping.
